Tree Operations
Our core business encompasses all aspects of tree work from basic pruning to dismantling large trees in confined spaces, although we do much more than just that. Listed below are types of operations we perform on trees. Where a further explanation is deemed useful we have provided a link to our Tree Operations page for a brief description in easy-speak.

  • Perfect for coastal gardeners as it aids in water retention

  • Assists in suppressing annoying weeds

  • Provides simple frost protection, especially with young plantings

  • Gives protection against soil compaction and weed eaters

  • Note, our minimum order is 10m3.

Privet Removal
In 2007 we were awarded the Urban Privet Control Contract by the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council. We have visited and removed privet from in excess of 350 properties in the Hawke’s Bay region to date.

Two forms of Privet (Tree Privet Ligustrom lucidum and Chinese Privet Ligustrom sinence have been declared Total Control Plant Pests because of the severe allergic reactions caused to people with respiratory conditions when in flower. Privet can also cause skin irritations and abdominal reactions.

There are a few exceptions, but in most cases HBRC are paying for the cost of privet removal. Contact Wendy Lawrence at Greenscene, or Louise Hampton at HBRC for further information.

For further information on Privet visit the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s website.
